Confetti is the sixth studio album by Little Mix. It was released on November 6, 2020 with "Break Up Song" as the lead single. It is the group's first album separate from their previous record label Syco. It is the last album to feature Jesy Nelson before her departure from the band.
Background[]
On March 12, 2020, Little Mix released a music video for their song "Wasabi", where at the end of the video the album cover for the group's fifth studio album LM5 was blasted away by an explosion of confetti, followed by the message 'New Era Pending', foreshadowing the title of their next album. In March 2020, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson and Jade Thirlwall confirmed in an interview that the album was in the process of recording.[1] A Snapchat posted by Perrie Edwards on July 17, 2020 hinted that the album was complete. This was later confirmed by the group during an MTV Music interview on July 24, 2020. Leigh-Anne stated in an Instagram Q&A that the album will be released sometime in 2020.
The album's cover art, title and release date was posted on the group's social media platforms on September 16, 2020. The tracklist was revealed individually on October 27, 2020 via Amazon Alexa[2] and then revealed all together on the group's social media platforms on October 28, 2020.[3]
Several snippets of songs were released alongside interviews about the songs around the world prior to the album's release.
An expanded edition featuring "No Time For Tears", "Bounce Back", "One I've Been Missing" and acoustic and remixed versions of "Break Up Song, "Holiday" and "Sweet Melody" was released on December 11, 2020.[4]
A vinyl edition featuring the single version of "Confetti" was announced on April 7, 2021 and was released on June 12, 2021.[5]
