Fifth Harmony (commonly initialised as 5H) is an American girl group, consisting of members Dinah Jane Hansen, Ally Brooke, Normani Hamilton and Lauren Jauregui. Former member Camila Cabello left the band in December 2016. After ending up in third place on the American version of The X Factor, the group was signed by Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid's record labels, Syco Music and Epic Records. Their debut single is called 'Miss Movin' On'.

Biography[]

Dinah Jane, Ally, Normani, Lauren and Camilla all auditioned as solo artists on the second season of The X Factor (U.S.) in 2012. Having failed to qualify in the "Teens" category and "Young Adults" category for Ally, the five were put together as a five-piece girl group, thus qualifying in the "Groups" category under the name Lylas. During the competition, the group were renamed via public voting to Fifth Harmony and placed third in the competition.

Fifth Harmony released their debut EP "Better Together" as a five-piece on October 2, 2012, peaking at number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart. Their debut studio album "Reflection" was released February 3, 2015 and reached a peak at number 5 on the Billboard 200. On December 18, 2016, Camilla Cabello departed from the group to pursue a solo career. Dinah Jane, Ally, Normani and Lauren continued as Fifth Harmony and released their first studio album "Fifth Harmony" as a four-piece, and third studio album overall, on August 25, 2017.

As of May 2018, the group are on an indefinite hiatus to allow the members to pursue solo projects. [1]
