Lyrics[]

Jade:
Up purrrup, put ya, put ya, put ya gloves up
Up purrrup, put 'em all the way up
Up purrrup, put ya, put ya, put ya gloves up
Boy, you better put 'em high

Perrie:
Sweat on the carpet, blood on the walls
Nothin' can stop me, stop the applause
They thought I was over, down on the floor
Ain't tappin' out, see me comin' for more

Jade:
Start a riot, ruckus and rage
Ready to rumble, ain't scared of the pain
Shots to my body, no tears on my face
Ain't throwin' the towel in or runnin' away

Jesy:
Ooh, can't nobody tell me nothin'
Just know, I'm gonna be startin' somethin'

Perrie:
I, I got my eyes on the prize
Fight till the day that I die
Can't knock me down and that's why
I got 'em all the way up

Takin' this moment, it's mine
Brighter than bright I will shine
Can't knock me down and that's why
I got 'em all the way up

Jesy (Perrie):
Up purrrup, put ya, put ya, put ya gloves up
Up purrrup, put 'em all the way up (All the way up)
Up purrrup, put ya, put ya, put ya gloves up

Perrie:
Boy you better put 'em high

Leigh-Anne:
Baby, I'm gunnin', gunnin' for gold
'Cause I been breakin', breakin' the mould
We'll rewrite the history pages, believe that
Make sure they don't forget
Change the green to red
Legend of the four divas

Jade:
Ooh, can't nobody tell me nothin'
Just know, I'm gonna be startin' somethin'

Leigh-Anne (and Perrie):
I, I got my eyes on the prize
Fight till the day that I die
Can't knock me down and that's why
I got 'em all the way up

Takin' this moment, it's mine
Brighter than bright I will shine
Can't knock me down and that's why
(I got 'em all the way up)
Oh woah

Jade:
All the way, all the way up
All the way, all the way up (Perrie: All the way up)
All the way, all the way up (Jade: Aah)

Perrie:
I got 'em all the way up

Jesy (Leigh-Anne):
Up purrrup, put ya, put ya, put ya gloves up
Up purrrup, put 'em all the way up (All the way up)
Up purrrup, put ya, put ya, put ya gloves up

Perrie:
Boy you better put 'em high (Jade: All the way up)

Jesy and Leigh-Anne:
Up purrrup, put ya, put ya, put ya gloves up
Up purrrup, put 'em all the way up
Up purrrup, put ya, put ya, put ya gloves up

Perrie and Leigh-Anne:
Boy you better put 'em high

Trivia[]

  • On Apple Music, Perrie said “This was done with [songwriter] Maegan Cottone, who we wrote ‘Salute’ with, as well as other songs. We absolutely love Meg. I feel like she just gets us so well. It’s a very anthemic song, and the chorus is quite Ciara-ish. We just had fun with it.” Leigh-Anne said “‘Gloves Up’ takes me back a little bit within Little Mix, but I don’t mind that. I feel like this one will be a fan favorite. We had it in mind when we wrote this song that it would maybe be a tour opener.”
